Located in Westminster, MD, Baugher’s Orchards and Farms is one of the top spots to pick the juiciest apples in the area. On Saturdays & Sundays, from 9 am – 5 pm, families can enjoy wagon rides to the pumpkin patch and apple-picking field. Or, stop by Baugher’s Orchard Market for homemade apple butter, delicious apple cider donuts, freshly-pressed sweet apple cider, and more. Guests can also walk through the pasture of the petting zoo farm and get up close and personal with the animals. There are lambs, goats, rabbits, and pigs aplenty!

Keep in mind, the farm requires masks to be worn and will have distancing marks on the ground for social distancing. Additionally, protocols are in place for regular sanitizing and capacity will be limited on the wagons.

Named “the 25 best corn mazes across the country”, there’s much to see and do at the Maryland Corn Maze. Located in Gambrills, MD, upon arrival guests will receive a map of the maze and some hints to help you through the vast field. The corn is also taller than you, making it a fun and challenging activity. Featuring an 8-acre corn maze (with one short and one long maze), the fun doesn’t end there. There are also plenty of other activities for the whole family in the Farm Yard. For instance, general admission tickets also include access to hayrides, a bounce pad, Halloween trivia, pedal carts, a rope ladder, and more. Weekend tickets are available online.

🎀 Lay Wreaths at Arlington National Cemetery

Arlington Cemetery

Each December, on National Wreaths Across America Day, guests can gather for a wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery. It’s a wonderful way to honor, remember, and teach children about the sacrifice of fallen U.S. veterans. This year, on December 19th at 8 am, volunteers will lay 253,000 veterans’ wreaths on every grave at Arlington outside of the nation’s Capital. Some ways to get involved in this year’s event include the following:

  1. Sponsor a wreath – Help reach the goal of honoring every veteran at the cemetery by sponsoring a wreath.
  2. Volunteer to lay wreaths – Participate in the wreath-laying 2020 event on December 19th.
  3. Invite friends and family – Help spread the word by inviting and encouraging friends and family to volunteer or sponsor a wreath.
